How to Apply

1. Initial contact

Call one of our expert Lending Managers to discuss your funding needs.

Warren, Naomi or Andrew will give you immediate feedback, including indicative loan pricing and terms.

2. Funding application

Submit your application for funding.

We aim to provide a same day assessment for all complete funding applications. We often issue a credit approved loan offer the same day, too.

3. Letter of offer

All of our letters of offer are credit approved and include specific loan terms such as:

  • Loan amount and term
  • Interest rate and any finance fees
  • Purpose for lending
  • Loan securities
  • Any terms and conditions

4. Acceptance & due diligence

On return of the letter of offer and payment of an initial finance fee, we’ll get things moving.

Your lending manager will cover off any outstanding conditions and work towards settlement.

5. Legal documentation

Our in-house solicitor and legal executive will prepare the legal documentation and work with your solicitor to confirm the settlement date and agree timeframes for executing the loan documents.

6. Settlement

Once the paperwork has been finalised, we’ll transfer the funds.

We have been known to settle within 48 hours of the application first being made.

Our lending includes residential development such as townhouses and house construction projects, commercial development projects, commercial and residential investment property acquisition, land subdivision, section finance, completed stock funding, and bridging scenarios where two settlements don’t quite line up.

Often the best way to get things moving is a phone call with one of our Lending Managers who can provide immediate feedback and indicative lending terms. Background on the client, statement of position, the purpose of the funding application, and the repayment strategy are all helpful.

Generally we don’t require a registered valuation. Our highly experienced team can quickly form an evidence based view on a property’s value range. This saves time and money.

Typically we will not require a quantity surveyor and, while pre-sales are a positive for any project, they are not a requirement either.

Our Lending Managers offer immediate feedback over the phone and can provide same-day credit approved letters of offer. We’ve settled urgent transactions in as little as 48 hours from initial enquiry. This is possible as we have an in-house legal team who handles the documentation and compliance checks.

In the specialist non-bank sector commissions are pre-agreed between the client and the advisor and paid for by the client from the loan on settlement. Cressida documents this arrangement in the loan agreement, deducts the commission, and pays this to the Advisor directly within one working day of settlement. There are no clawbacks.

The Anti Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act places an obligation on all New Zealand banks and financial institutions, as well as solicitors, accountants, and real estate agents, to detect and deter money laundering and terrorism financing.

This means that we need to collect sufficient information to verify a customer’s identity and source of funds. Businesses, trusts, and other organisations need to provide information on the organisation and anyone who acts on its behalf.

The Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance legislation regulates the consumer finance sector. The Act ensures that borrowers can make informed decisions about their finances by providing rules and regulations that lenders must abide by – including disclosure requirements.

Under the CCCFA, a “consumer loan” is one where the consumer uses or intends to use the credit, wholly or predominantly for personal, domestic or household purposes. For real estate transactions, a second relevant test is whether or not the security is held in the name of an individual and is their primary place of residence.

A contract is not a consumer credit contract when the credit is for commercial or investment purposes, or where the security property is owned by a company or a family trust.

However, we do take the standards and principles set out in the Act seriously and exercise the care, diligence, and skill of a responsible lender.
